When the lights go out on the worship set in the second service and the message begins, Grace’s worship and production teams continue to connect with God. After attending the service together during the 9:30am, the group gathers together backstage during the 11am service for group study. They call it Green Room Sessions, and right now the team is digging into Gospel in Life by Tim Keller.
Worship Pastor Chad Wyatt came up with the idea when the church was working on the move to Edgewater: “The worship and production teams are there from 6am to at least 1pm on Sundays, so it’s the perfect time to be intentional about building more community within the group. Green Room Sessions have helped us grow spiritually as we serve Christ together and deeper as a group of friends.”
Production team member Abby Stewart loves the study. “It’s been awesome. God is using the Green Room Sessions — along with Mike’s sermons and some situations I’m going through — to help me understand what grace is. I’m moving toward having a gospel-centered life as opposed to just a religious life.”
She adds that “we’re also growing closer as a team than ever. It’s a refreshing and supportive environment where we can be real. We are digging into each others’ lives beyond just how we serve on Sundays, and that helps us do what we do even better.”
