New in 2012, 101 is a place for women at Grace to take a first step of connecting and learning around a variety of practical topics. Each event will begin with a brief large group time and then offer three to four breakouts to choose from around a central theme. You’ll hear from different women each session* as they share their God-given gifts and areas of life-focus with you, helping you grow in Christ in the ways you need it most.
Women 101 is held on the dates below at 7pm in the Reading Room/Media Center at Edgewater.

Does being single ever feel like a place of purgatory? How do you find contentment when your expectations and reality don’t match? What does God want for you as a single woman? These questions and others will be discussed as Angela shares personal and practical principles she discovered while working through 38 years of singleness.
- Angela Buchanan has spent most of her life in ministry, most recently serving on staff at a church in Nashville where she mentored and discipled women. Now a resident Floridian, she is the Director of Communications for a local international ministry. Angela is a voracious reader, a lifetime learner and lover of the New York Jets. She and her husband, Jeff, live in Longwood.
HONORING YOUR FATHER, MOTHER, AND MORE: Reaching Out to Your Extended Family as a Grown Up with Monica Taffinder & Dawna Prostak
By definition, extended family often causes you to stretch. Sometimes beyond what’s comfortable. Sometimes until it hurts. It’s easy to feel like some of the branches on your family tree are just too far out and too painful to reach. Come hear how to love your relatives and how stretching toward them will bring you closer.
- Monica Taffinder is is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (M.A. in Counseling and Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary), who enjoys working with people on issues of depression, anxiety, sexual abuse recovery, trauma, femininity and gender identity, dissociative disorders, and strengthening core relationships. Monica enjoys traveling, gardening, writing, and being with her friends and family.
- Dawna Prostak is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and graduate of the University of Central Florida (M.A. in Mental Health Counseling) who enjoys working with couples in marriage counseling, and adoption and infertility issues. Dawna also specializes in issues surrounding femininity, sexual abuse recovery, and anxiety disorders. Married with two daughters and a son, Dawna enjoys spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling, and scrapbooking.
